Recreational dance classes are offered in the fall before the recital session begins and in the summer after the recital session has ended. The classes are designed to be an introduction into the dance program or a session for dance disciplines that interest the dancer and they would like the opportunity to try it out before signing up for a full recital session.
Recital Class Information
The recital dance program begins in late September and continues through spring with a recital in late April/early May. Recital costumes are included in the class fee. All classes are without parents/guardians unless otherwise stated in the brochure description of the class.
Dancers should wear a leotard and tights (unless otherwise listed in the brochure class description) to class each day. Shoes are designated by the style of class: ballet utilizes pink leather ballet shoes (no house slippers), tap utilizes black tap shoes, and jazz utilizes black or tan jazz shoes. Hair should be pulled back away from the face for all classes. If you have questions regarding what is required call the Park District at (630) 540-4873.
