Recreational dance classes are offered in the fall, winter and in the summer. The classes are designed to be an introduction into the dance program or a session for dance disciplines that interest the dancer and they would like the opportunity to try it out before signing up for a full recital session.
The recital dance program begins in late September and continues through spring with a recital in late April/early May. The 2016-2017 Recital program will be broken into two sessions. Participants can register for one or both. The second session of recital classes will include costumes. The recital is held in the Bartlett Park District Community Center on the Oak Room stage. All classes are without parents/guardians unless otherwise stated in the brochure description of the class.
Dancers should wear a leotard and tights (unless otherwise listed in the brochure class description) to class each day. Shoes are designated by the style of class: ballet utilizes pink leather ballet shoes (no house slippers), tap utilizes black tap shoes, and jazz utilizes black or tan jazz shoes. Hair should be pulled back away from the face for all classes. If you have questions regarding what is required call the Park District at (630) 540-4873.
