Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies

Starting in September the Bartlett Park District is proud to partner with NWSRA and AllenForce to present the Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies (HMHB) program to veterans. Benefits of participation in HMHB’s positive health and wellness program include improvement in physical and mental health. Beyond the gym, social networking opportunities with other veterans and their families provide a fun atmosphere for all. Opportunities will include learning about adapted sports and awareness of other veteran organizations in the area.

Veterans who have an illness or have been permanently injured qualify for program. If you were injured post-service, you may still qualify. To qualify as a participant in HMHB, a veteran needs to have the following: honorable/medical discharge on DD21, 10% disability rating or higher assigned by the VA, disability rating applied for, in medical review or under appeal, and non-service connected injury, note from your civilian doctor, or a general endorsement from a VA counselor, VOC /PVA representative.

Qualified veterans will receive a one-year membership for himself/herself, a second membership for a friend/family member or spouse (PT Partner), up to 15 personal trainer sessions, and monthly social networking opportunities. All of this is available at NO COST to qualified veterans.

Contact Kolbe Kasper at 630-540-4839 or kkasper@bartlettparks.org to get involved. For more information, please visit www.bartlettparks.org or www.healthymindshealthybodies.org.
