
The Bartlett Park District has forty-one full-time employees and several hundred part-time and seasonal employees at various times throughout the year to operate its programs and facilities. The Park District receives hundreds of applications each year and unfortunately there are a limited number of positions available. You will be contacted for an interview if you are being considered for a position. If you applied for a specific position that was advertised you should receive notification of your status. If you do not hear from us, you most likely are not being considered at the present time. Due to the volume we receive, we do not generally respond to unsolicited applications. Applications are kept on file for one year and are categorized by position. If a position becomes available we will review current applications on file first. After one year, applicants will need to reapply.
If you apply for employment with the Bartlett Park District, the Park District will conduct a criminal background check upon you, as required by Illinois State Law. You will be required to sign a Conviction Information Request Release Form at the time an offer is made. The Park District is required by law to obtain criminal conviction information from the Illinois State Police on all prospective employees. According to this statute, the Park District may not employ a person from whom a criminal background investigation has not been initiated. Physical examinations by a medical doctor designated by the Director shall be required for candidates offered full-time positions before they are hired by the District. The Director shall refuse to certify as eligible for employment, anyone who is physically or cognitively unable to perform the duties of the position to which he or she seeks employment (as outlined in the job description), and for whom no reasonable accommodation can be made without undue hardship to the District.
All full-time employees and part-time employees that are required to drive Park District vehicles, as part of their job, will be required to undergo a pre-placement drug screening through Central DuPage Business Health or other District designated location. It is the policy of the Bartlett Park District to provide a safe, productive, and drug-free work environment.
